Blazing the Trail…

Today, I’m blazing the trail… with a blazer. After yesterday’s party foul, I knew I had to step it up a notch. So I wore a blazer. That’s what people do, right? Wear blazers and think they’re awesome (which I did… right up until I sat down to write this blog and came up with that title).

A word about these pants… or a few. They’re corduroy. Does anyone else own corduroy pants? I have some advice for you, I’m a bit self conscious of the noise the pants make when I walk in them, or move at all really. We went to see the The King’s Speech in the theater tonight and I think that’s the most still I’ve sat in a long time. I felt like I had my own little PSA saying “Please silence your cellphones and your pants.” So here’s my advice, don’t wear them to the movies.

I’m always scared to wear a blazer, because I don’t know if I’d be able to pull it off (not literally, as in look good in it. haha )

For most of the things I wear, it helps to know the basics that work for me and pair those with the pieces that are tougher to style. With this blazer, I try and use it as a piece to balance proportions; in this case, skinny jeans with a flow-y top. You should try it out, good luck!

Silence your pants, HAhaha. You’re funny. And I’ve got 2 pairs of cords and never noticed the noise, so either I’m losing my hearing or am completely oblivious. Thanks for the paranoia, Jessica. Love your blazer styling, tho!

Oh good. I was going to say “blazer, but it is not blazer day!” Fortunately you remember it all on your own. You look great. I have admit that I haven’t figured out how to wear mine yet…maybe I’ll steal your look.

I love corduroy pants. But I’ve never noticed the sound before! At least it’s not as bad as those swishy sport pants from the 90s. You definitely wouldn’t want to wear THOSE to the movies

oooh, your printed top with that blazer is awesome! seriously. and i totally know what you’re talking about with “loud” clothes…i had some sandals once that totally made a farting sound at every step. tell me you think i wore THOSE more than once…
